Born in Ankara in 1966, Jale Çelik had received awards in international art competitions while she was still a high school student. Later she studied at Atılım University, faculty of Fine Arts & Architectural Design. The artist uses various colors with enthusiasm of an illusionist hiding the secrets of what is seen, what seems to be missing and what is really missing, inviting the viewers to find the “missing parts” and pointing to the fact that the search for them is the essence of reality. She uses hundreds of layers of acrylic paint on canvas and numerous manipulations to create repetitive esthetic motifs and an explosion of colors. In 2016, the prominent Opera Gallery with offices in Geneva, Paris, Monte Carlo, New York, Miami and Dubai, had elected Jale Çelık to be featured in its publication named “Entering Abstraction” among only 30 international moderm and contemporary artists. Her artwork is included in this publication alone with the works of such legendary artists as VIctor Vasarely, Yayoi Kusama, Anish Kapoor, and Damien Hirst.
Çelik has participated in several art fairs in Turkey and abroad, and exhibited her works in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including those with Opera Gallery in Geneva and Dubai. Highly recommemded as a solid future investment at yet affordable price.
